Committee of 100 Refurbishes Maple Hall Lobbies
A wonderful transformation has taken place in Maple Hall this summer. Thanks to funding provided by the Committee of 100 the lobbies and main stairwell of Maple Hall have been completely refurbished.
New windows and lighting were installed. This, along with removing some walls have created a much brighter, more open and inviting feel to the lobby areas. New furniture, flooring, and wall colours make the spaces very inviting and friendly.
As part of the remodel the front desk was relocated so as to allow the desk worker to more easily supervise and monitor entries, hallways and the lobby area. With that relocation space was opened up for two computer workstations for student use.
Under the direction of Director of Plant Services Darren Bishop the project was completed on time and under budget. "The Maple Hall lobby renovation is a great example of how the Committee of 100, working with Plant Services, can make a powerful, positive impact on our campus with a very reasonable amount of money," said Mark Haynal, President of CUC.
