Choral Union Presents Sacred Spring Concert
Canadian University College's Choral Union, under the direction of Dr. Wendolin Pazitka-Munroe, presented a sacred concert Friday evening, March 30. Marjorie Souza, a 3rd-year Music Performance major from Sao Paulo, Brazil, accompanied the 79-voice ensemble and Annina Engelbrecht, a 2nd-year Education major from Fort McMurray, AB, introduced each number.
The evening's program offered the audience a delightfully musically diverse selection of anthems. The concert began with Wana Baraka, Shawn Kirchner's exciting arrangement of a traditional Kenyan hymn. In addition to a deeply moving arrangement of Nearer My God to Thee the program also included works by Mozart, Handel, and William Stickles' arrangement of Eternal Life. The complete program can be found here.
